Our products
The vast majority of tempeh is made from soybeans. But other legumes are also suitable for processing into tempeh products.
At SBC, we mainly make tempeh from soybeans. However, in our modern factory, we can also make tempeh from other legumes, such as lupin and chickpeas. Below is an overview of our current range and of products that we are still developing.
Soybean tempeh
SBC makes soybean-based tempeh in various varieties, both organic and non-organic. The well-known blocks are made in several weights: 195 grams, 200 grams, 395 grams and 400 grams.
Depending on the desired shelf life, we can supply them as chilled, pasteurised or frozen products. The shelf life is respectively 18 days (at max. 7°C), 240 days (at max. 7°C) and 14 months (at -18°C).
We also make pre-cut cubes of tempeh (size approximately 1.5 cm). We only sell these as frozen products.
In addition to natural tempeh, we also make products that are pre-fried in sunflower oil. For example, we make fried cubes and minced tempeh. These products are ready-to-eat: they only need to be reheated.
